An Electronic Artifact

Tchaikovsky 1812 Nutcracker Suite (1977) by Kraft and Alexander

This is probably one of the most beautiful compositions of electronica from the 1970s. The album is very rare to find. The LP runs for 40 minutes. It is a remake of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Like many electronic musicians from this era, most of the music were remakes from great orchestral works. I don't have much to write about this, except that the music was based on the ARP 2000. It's one of those things you just have to give it a listen. It's a relic.

1812 Overture
The Nutcracker Suite Overture
March
Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy/Trepak - Russian Dance
Arabian Dance
Chinese Dance/Reed Flutes
Waltz of the Flowers

I thought I was the only one on the planet to have ever heard of these two characters, or have a copy of this vinyl. I'm glad to see I'm not.
I am an avid collector of ancient electronica both bad and good.
This I believe sits very happily in the 'GOOD' catagory. I have MP3s of this album having recently recorded it from vinyl. I would be happy to hear of any other music they produced if anyone has any info.

Hallo, for any one that reads this, if you love the work of Wendy Carlos and Isao Tomita this a "must have" record. For a few years now i am trying to more info on the makers. Until now with very little success. In the mean time i was able to purchase a second copy of the record and setup a scheme to restore the sound and make a CD out of it. This as cost me more or less a arm and a leg. If interested: marcdemol@scarlet.be

the links to listen don't seem to work. Has anybody got a torrent of this album posted? I used to have a copy but it perished in a flood some years ago....
